Our Story

Bramble Box is a small, family run business based in Pittsburgh, PA. I started Bramble Box because I have a passion for promoting learning and creativity in children. As a mother of two children (4 and 7) I am always looking for ways to entertain them, keep the tv off (most of the time) and to find ways to interact together.

I had watched both my children deep in the midst of pretend play and had never realized the huge educational benefits of it. The more I researched, the more I found about how important pretend play is to childhood development. I spent hours surfing the internet (particularly pinterest), trailing around collecting materials and trying out projects with my kids. I must admit I always had great intentions and often fell short due to lack of time. I thought maybe I could dedicate more time to this; reach out to other parents and save them time by providing ready made kits. Why not share my ideas and creativity with other parents who are also busy?

Each pretend play prop box is designed to encourage kids to step into a make-believe world while building skills in essential development areas, including social and emotional, language, problem solving and gross and fine motor skills.

Each Bramble Box is lovingly curated and hand-packed by me in my home (my basement is like a kid's creative wonderland). We try and go a step further by
using 100% recycled mailers to package up our boxes and we also strive to use biodegradable or recyclable materials within our internal packaging. As a small business we try to support other local and small businesses whenever we can!

We have donated boxes to local organizations, schools and home-schooling groups and I hope we can increase our donations in the future to give back to our local community. I really want this venture to benefit as many kids as possible.

Thank you wholeheartedly for your support of our business.

Happy exploring,
